Sing some praise! Our church project in Ellerslie
Situated right next to the railway and Motorway in Ellerslie, this old industrial building was tired and broken with real challenges to overcome. This is where our skills for finding solutions were put to the test. The floor slab was broken (open to possibly contaminated ground), nothing on the building was straight, in good condition or remaining well-constructed ,and she certainly wasn’t pretty.
The project was consented but had stalled over two years when we became involved. The budget was tight, and starting again not an option. Cost effective design solutions were needed.
Coincidentally it turned out the clients had seen our 60’s renovation on Sylvan and liked the external transformation..
An internal nib wall and damp proofed concrete overpour sorted the slab floor, additional internal walls were built to sure up the structure and provide sound dampening, with the roof replaced and a simple economic modern exterior façade added.
Completed on budget and within the time frame this broken shell was revived, fit for purpose and now operates full of life for the owners
We felt privileged to be asked to attend the official opening which really reinforced why we love what we do
